Project description
Troughout this cooperation we intend to explain the concept of town twinning to our citizens which don’t have any experience regarding this. During non-formal meetings with persons of different nationalities, culture and all age, the cooperation intends to become an exchange of experiences on field of culture, services, agriculture, industries, constructions, forestry and fishing.
The project focuses on the organization of exchange of best practices regarding urban development, attracting investors in the area, renewable energy, sport and traditions.
Partners searched
All cities and towns with a total population of between 10,000 and 50,000 people.
Organisation presentation
Adjud Municipality is located in the north-east part of Vrancea county, at the the intersection of the main road and railways, that make the connection between the South Part of the country and the North Part of Moldavia, at a short distance to the Focsani Municipality (only 46 km). It is also located at the intersection of Trotus and Siret stream. Adjud has 340.310 inhabitants and covers an area of 58,19 km2.
County's economy is mainly characterized by firms in the service sector. Though, vineyard represents an important economic sector underdeveloped compared to its importance, which can lead to substantial revenue. Even though, agriculture can be a base section, the agriculture is excessively fragmented and most people that work in this field are not employees.
In the last period of time, Vrancea county has developed a diversified industrial culture, which did not take account of specific conditions, human resources and the environment in the county. So, in Adjud municipality, economic activities are the majority as follows: services (75,08%), industries and construction (23,15%), agriculture, forestry and fishing (1,78%).
