Project description
This project plans to include as broad circle of citizens wich volunterly activate in social life of their community as possible. Municipality of Stubičke Toplice plans to sign the twinning agreement with it’s partner as a result of achived cooperation.
Troughout this cooperation we intend to explain the concept of european citizenship to our citizens wich have just entered the EU and hardly have any experience in civil patricipation in the Union level. During non-formal meetings with persons of different nationalities, culture and all age, the cooperation intends to become an exchange of experiences on field of continental tourism, cultural and sport events.
The broadest goal of this project is to raise awareness on European identity of each citizen who represents the smallest cell of EU, so that they would consider their economical, cultural and general development outside of national frame.
The goals of the project are:
- to outline the difficulties in including „new“ citizens of the Union in the transnationaldimension of the Union
- to promote information on rights, obligations and responsibilities of EU citizen from those citizens wich have already achived some results in the Union
- promotion and development of international cooperation in economical development of Municipality.
Organisation presentation
Municipality of Stubičke Toplice is located below north slopes of Zagrebačka gora. That is really peaceful and quiet place, with plenty of green hills. Because of short distance to the capital Zagreb (only 35 km), Municipality is well connected with the city and accessible for the passengers from the west. Stubičke Toplice has 2 805 inhabitants and covers an area of 27 km2, and is one of the smallest but most prosperous mumicipalities. Approximately 80% of Municipality area is in Medvednica Nature Park – valued space with rarely preserved, almost untouched nature.
